She graduated from Wesleyan University in 2004 and has worked a wide variety of jobs ever since. These jobs range range from administrative assistant to public transit enthusiast to fabric company intern to design entrepreneur to gourmet foods call center representative to public library social media maven.
Shannon draws upon her substantial and varied workplace experience, as well as her fond and not-so-fond memories of middle school in La Jolla, California and high school in Birmingham, Alabama in her fiction writing for young adult readers.
In June 2009, she began working on her first novel and completed it in the summer of 2010.
Shannon is currently seeking representation for her 64,000 word YA urban fantasy, THE MERMAID'S DAUGHTER.
